Garrett’s organs save 5 lives, his corneas enhanced site for 2 more lives and his juvenile cartilage enhanced the lives of 125 more people. In total, Garrett impacted 132 lives throughout the United States and into Canada!
Garrett loved sports and being able to spend more time with his friends Aside from the competition, he enjoyed the comradery and teamwork the events provided. He participated in baseball, basketball, soccer, 5K’s, Youth Triathlons, Tae kwon do and Boy Scouts.
Garrett’s parents feel and active child is a healthy child and therefore the foundation supports youth related athletic programs.
To date, the Foundation has provided AED’s (automatic defibrillators) for the Burlington Little League ball parks and has sponsored a yearly baseball clinic, the Burlington youth triathlon and area youth sports teams.The Foundation has also purchased equipment and uniforms for teams.

The Garrett M. Brockway Foundation was created in 2013 to honor Garrett’s ultimate sacrifice of organ and tissue donation as a result of his tragic death at the age of 10-years-old. Increasing awareness for the great need of organ donation is first and foremost goal of the foundation. In addition, the foundation will strive to make a positive impact on children’s lives through academic opportunities and athletic programs.
